BTS Study Regulations (admission until 2013)

The BTS is a graduate school with several member institutions and does not have the authority to independently issue doctoral degrees. The BTS awards doctoral degrees from the Hertie School of Governance and Freie Universität Berlin.

If your first supervisor is from Freie Universität or another BTS cooperation partner (such as the WZB Berlin Social Science Center), you will be awarded a degree from Freie Universität Berlin. For more information on the Freie Universität’s doctorate regulations see below.

Freie Universität Berlin’s Doctorate Regulations

If your first supervisor is a faculty member at the Hertie School of Governance, you will receive your degree from the Hertie School according to the Hertie School’s doctorate regulations. For more information see below.
