Michal Parizek is an assistant professor of international relations at the Institute of Political Studies at Charles University, Prague. He teaches several courses on international politics and political economy, as well as on research methods. In his research, he focuses on the functioning of international institutions and on whether and how their design can make them function better. Empirically, his core interests are in the politics of global economic institutions, notably the World Trade Organization. He has participated on several research projects on European politics, the World Trade Organization, and most recently he has been awarded a Czech Science Foundation grant on the politics of international bureaucracies. His articles have appeared, among others, in the Journal of European Integration and in the Review of International Organizations.
