The research programme of the Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS) is based on the systematic and comparative study of East Asia in its wider global context aiming at developing a theoretically-informed and empirically-grounded understanding of the origins, effects, and interdependence of institutions in East Asia, both contemporary and historical.
Doctoral Programme in Governance, Hertie School of Governance
The Doctoral Programme in Governance offered by the Hertie School of Governance is a three-year structured doctoral programme with a focus on governance and public policy. It familiarizes students with cutting-edge research concepts and methods and brings together perspectives from political science, economics, law, sociology, and management.
Berlin Graduate School for Social Sciences, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
The Berlin Graduate School for Social Sciences (BGSS) serves as the platform for international graduate training at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s Institute for Social Sciences. The graduate school provides research-oriented training to doctoral researchers. The BTS is in close cooperation with the BGSS when it comes to organising joint events and workshops.
